Java Developers

Position summary

The successful candidate will become a team player developing code for international viewing applications. This position will involve design and development of components for large, complex applications that can read, interpret and render hundreds of different file types within a single application. The core technologies are shared and packaged in a variety of different types of applications including servers, desktop applications, thin clients and browser plug-ins. The technology extends into scanning, printing, batch processing, mark-up and file conversion. The candidate will work as a team member in a casual, but fast-paced, release driven, environment.  Reporting to a project manager, the candidate will be responsible for the design, development and quality of assigned tasks for defined milestones. There is opportunity to work in different areas of technology.

Skills and qualifications

• B.S. Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience in software development
• Solid programming skills in Java
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Motivated with high desire to learn
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Team player with strong abilities to work independently
• Excellent work ethic

Additional Assets

• Reverse engineering experience
• Experience with Windows GDI, MFC, ActiveX/COM
• UI design experience for Windows or Java applications(Swing)
• Experience with Java RMI and HTTP
• Experience with Linux or Fedora
• Experience with CAD formats, raster formats or reading vector data
• Experience with raster manipulation techniques
• Experience with scanning
