What is an On-Premise Solution?

PrinterOn On-Premise Solutions are deployed directly on-site within an organization such as an enterprise or campus. An On-Premise solution satisfies two main requirements for a customer - being able to offer a mobile printing solution as well as needing data to stay secure on site. Software components are installed on corporate servers and all processing and encryption of documents is done on site in the "Private Cloud" so data stays within the boundaries of a secure corporate network.

An On-Premise Solution allows the customer more control over the service and they are able to do a tighter integration with existing print management or cost recovery systems they may already own.

On-Premise Printing Usage Scenarios

  • An Enterprise that wants to provide mobile printing but needs data and documents to stay on-site for security reasons
  • A University or College campus that requires a printing solution that allows LDAP authentication
  • Visitors to a corporate headquarters who need to print but don’t have access to the secure network

Benefits of an On-Premise Printing Solution

  • Data does not leave the organization keeping sensitive documents secure
  • Enable mobile workers to print from anywhere they are to the office
  • Mobile printing from any smartphone, tablet or laptop
  • Access control and print management integration helps eliminate wasteful printing
  • Integration with most print management solutions

How Does it Work?

  1. Documents are uploaded to web portal via laptop or emailed from a smartphone, tablet or laptop using the unique email address assigned to the PrinterOn-enabled printers.
  2. Data goes to on site servers with PrinterOn software for processing and encryption ("a")
  3. Printer configuration/authorization details are checked within the PrinterOn Global Directory ("b")
  4. Release code is sent back to user via email or displayed on web interface (depending on print method and configuration) ("c")
  5. Release code is entered on keypad at printer and document is printed.
